Our Background

Raised with hunting in the Swedish forests

Hunting has always been part of my family. Both my grandfather and my father chaired a hunting team in Småland, and I grew up in the Swedish forests, in a family of professional hunters. Already in my childhood, German hunters hunted with our local team.

When my cousin, a set designer in the film industry, had a premiere coming up, the rest of the family only hoped it would not fall during hunting week. Hunting week was sacred.

At home I have my hunting dog Hilma, a wild boar dog who loves nothing more than picking up a trail.

Since then I have arranged tailor-made travel around the hunts of several American clients in Sweden: the hotels, the transfers, the dinners and the days before and after. Their feedback has been excellent.

Today Thinkable Travel works alongside hunters, hunting agencies and their outfitters. The hunt stays with them; we take care of everything around it, for one seamless journey from arrival to departure.

We put each package together based on where the hunt takes place, or where you would like your programme before or after the hunt. The programmes above are examples, and every part can be changed.

It can take a few days to complete a package, as we wait for prices from our suppliers, for example for accommodation. Flights are not included, and the cost of the hunt depends on the game, the season and the area.

Send us an email and we will put together a package for you.

Hunting Contacts

Hunting experiences in Sweden, Denmark & Norway

Hunting experiences can be arranged in Sweden, Denmark and Norway. Should you wish to hunt here, or to expand your offering as an agency, we can arrange the complete journey around the hunt.

Good to Know

Hunting in Sweden as a visitor

Most hunting land in Sweden is already taken, so visitors usually hunt as paying guests of landowners or hunting associations.

Every hunter must carry a Swedish state hunting permit during the hunt. It runs from 1 July to 30 June, and visitors can pay for it through the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency’s hunter register.

Hunters from outside the Nordic countries generally need a temporary import permit from the Swedish Police for their firearms, unless they hold a European Firearms Pass. Your host’s invitation is part of the application.

Allemansrätten: the Swedish right of public access

Allemansrätten gives everyone the freedom to walk, cycle, swim and paddle in the Swedish countryside, to camp for a night or two away from homes and farmland, and to pick berries, mushrooms and flowers that are not protected. It is part of what makes a stay in Sweden special, for hunters and travelling companions alike.

The principle is simple: do not disturb, do not destroy. Private gardens, land close to homes and growing crops are not included, and neither are hunting and fishing, which follow their own rules. Your hunt is therefore always arranged through your hunting company.

Rules can change, so please check them before you travel. The Swedish Hunters’ Association is a good place to start.

How We Work

Alongside your outfitter

The hunt is booked with your agency or outfitter, as always. We plan the days around it with their schedule in mind, and keep everyone informed throughout.

Hunting in more than one country? We can combine Sweden, Denmark and Norway in one journey.

Each journey is handled by one person, from the first reply to the last transfer. We reply within 24 hours. The complete package can take a few days, as we wait for prices from our suppliers, for example for accommodation.
